This am I think my tranny limped- heres what happend:

Doing about 60mph, go to pass and the truck slams down to 4th and locks out 5th and 6th, throws a code. I shut the truck off, restart and have 5th and 6th back, CEL still on. Shut down truck, do my thing. Come back and drive the truck 2 miles to the gym..Shut down again. Start and drive 1/4 or a mile and the light goes off - damn! Can I still get the code? Was this a fluke? never had any issue until I had the transgo Jr install...I know, likely not related.

Did this running a 385hp tune from Nick.

Yes you can still get the code. I'd bet you slipped.

More than likely a limp if your running a 385 hp tune with just a transgo jr.

So much for that being "Tranny Safe"

Wait a minute, are you running up to 385 hp or a 385 hp tune?

the tune was said to be 385, from Nick. Not even the "hot" tune for a stock tranny

well if your running a 385 hp tune on a transgo jr then yeah you will limp pretty fast. I would think that to run that much of a tune you would build the trans with some sort of ATS or suncoast kit. Whats the miles on your truck?

no not a 385 hp tune lol...385hp to the wheels on his truck total...more like a 80hp or less tune i would guess. with a properly installed transgo jr. on a 6spd if it doesnt have a ton of miles or a ton of towing miles, that shouldnt have limped it...? does sound like a limp tho...may wana call one of the tranny guys. thats a bummer man. check the codes tho, may have been a fuel issue or something else...

Check the codes before jumping to conclusions. Need to pull the TCM codes. Post them up and someone like MikeL or one of the others will help you out.
