Just wanted to let everyone know, my old 84 blazer finally hit the 500K mark.
happened this past fathers day weekend.
drove from houston, tx to greenwood, nebr.
about 927miles each way.
rolled the OD over 30 miles from entering Texas on the way back.
Old truck performed flawlessly for the entire trip.
changed oil just day before I left, and it used a half a quart for the whole trip there and back.
avg 21andchange MPG going up, running easy at 75to80mph most the time.
dropped to 15mpg coming back, pushing 25mph or so headwind across nebraska, kansas and most of oklahoma. Running somewhere above 85mph, not sure exactly. 2K on the tach is 83mph, and we were running right around 2300 on the tach.
Old truck sure impressed me, and dad when I got up there and he seen how many miles were on it.
Guess now i might paint the thing, seeing how I got my moneys worth from it.
paid $2200 for it 7 years ago. Other than a transmission and rearend that i filled with mud and ruined, no other major repairs. water pump, starter and alt, valve cover gaskets. thats about it.

Congrats man, that is impressive. My 6.2 that my dad bought new only has 110k on it, so I doubt I'll ever be a member of the club!

Heck mine may be there? I bought it in the end of winter...look at my profile for an idea as I looked up this site shortly after. It has a broken speedo and was owned for years by a roofing outfit. then a couple others before I got it. '84 1/2 ton 6.2 with 700r4 tranny. Brent
