Why are going from a lifted truck to a lowered one???????? What are you gonna do with the lift?

im gonna sell the lift. im just over the big truck big tire stuff. i dont go off road anyway. i go to the track and daily drive. it will b better for track times plus everywhere i look now i see a jacked up dmax w/ black wheels so im gonna change it up.

where i live i was the first one w/ a black on black dmax back in late 02, now everybody has one. i like to b different. ive never been a follower

I am dying to see this setup as it is similar to what I want. Torsions all the way down and 3 inch drop shackle in rear along with the body molding taken off. Any updates?

I clear my 305/45/22 mine just fine with no rubbing. I drop my torsion bars down as far they go when I drag race and no rubbing. The biggest thing is going to be the offset of the wheels you go with. The Pirelli tires are have are a good choice. great traction everywhere are are not too expensive.

i was gonna go w/ +20 offset and 5" backspacing w/ the djm 3/5 drop kit.

will this combo b fine?

+20 are gonna tuck way in, its gonna be tight, real tight. I have tomorrow off and should get my 305/40/22s mounted. they are goin on a ultra lightning 22s with +12. we will see if they rub

I wonder if they will stick out on the bmf 22x9.5. The other wheel I like is the rolling big power 96r.

6matt9 lemme know how it works. maybe i should drop the offset down some. do you have a 3/5 drop?

well guys we slowed down at work today so i took my truck into town and got the 22s mounted up. Im all stock suspension with trimmed front valance and modded wheel wells cause of the old 305-65-18s. i would still rub with the 18s with a -25 offset. i was concerned about 305s and a +12 but i can go to full lock and never touch anything, still got about an inch before i hit the uca. These wheels tuck nice with the front bein just outside the fenderflare and the rear nice and tight inside the flare. i dunno how the would fit with a 3/5 drop but i can tell you that trimming the valance and cuttin/zip tyin the fenderwells is gonna be a must do. pics speak louder than words, so here ya go

looks great! you still got room there to go w/ a 305/45/22 i think i could clear the 305/40 w/ a 2/4 drop but not the 3/5

6matt9

yeah i got plenty of room for a 45 as it sits but i wanted the new cooper LTZs tires and thats the only 22 size you can get. a 45 series is 32.8 tall with 5.4 sidewall. A 40 is 31.6 with a 4.8. A 32.8 tire with 3/5 drop is gonna eat your bumper and fenderwells up. IMO the best combo you could go with would be a 40 series with a slight positive offset(+12 or less). The more positive offset the more chance that your gonna rub your uca. My wheels are +12 and i have about a half an inch at full lock before i rub the uca. Hope i helped

I think im gonna try spacing my bumper out about a 1/2'', and see if that helps. when i dropped my t-bars down with a 305 60 18 cooper, It didnt really change were it scrubed. It was still hitting the bumper and right behind the front tire. I think if the bumper was clearenced and the nor cal nick fender mod(or whatever its called) was done i think clearing that tire would not be a problem.

yea i agree 100%. the rim i wanted seems to only come in a +18 offset. or way negative somthin. so what is that gonna to as far as clearence and looks? is it gonna suck em way in? spacers possibly?

6matt9
03-11-2010, 02:45 AM
yea when i was lookin for some 22s all i could find was either way + or way -. I think my lightnings come in -25 which is way out there or +12. Im not to sure but i think the BMFs come in 0 offset. a +18 isnt but 6mm difference which equals to less than a quarter of an inch. You should be fine with the +18 if you have already cut and trimmed up your frontend for 33s. Id just be concerned about dropping the truck that far and how much of the fenderwell liners you will have to cut or tie back. it would be nice if somebody on here would chime in that has dropped a HD to hear their exp.

Bmfs have a 4.75'' backspacing, which in a 22x10.5 Its gonna be tough to get my truck to sit how I want it. With a 22x9 with almost all the wheel set to the inside you can slam it so low you need a C notch, but the wheels in that width look like shit imop!!! Way to skinny...If I have to chicken out and just level mine i guess thats what ill do but these wheels are going on my truck no matter what!!!
