When did ac-delco change the air filter? I have a new one and it has the correct part # on it. It does not look like the old one though. The old one had glue stripes on the back to keep it from sucking in the pleats. The pleats are also a blueish color.

You should double check the part #. Because of the high air flow we have with these trucks the glue needs to be on there to hold the pleats together. Sounds like you have a filter for a gas burner, it's a common error that happens at alot of parts houses.

That's why I was asking. Just wondered if any one had the same problem. The only problem is the part # is correct.

is the part number 1618 ?? That is the correct one. I ordered one 3 weeks ago and it was white with the glue strips on it.

I bought one yesterday, it is white with glue strips. Looks like someone changed filters from on box to another and got A duramax filter cheap. Take it back to where you got it for a replacement or refund.

I compared a filter from my last gasser with the Duramax. Looked identical right down to the # of pleats. What makes you guys thing the Duramax flows a lot of air? Later! Frank

I counted the number of pleats in the A1618C and puralator, fram, and wix
The AC had 110 all of the others had 66
