I have a 04 2500 hd 4 x 4 with a LB7, I have upgraded the air box and installed a hyperteck programer. The truck is use for daily driving and on the weekends for towing 3,000 to 5,000 lbs. What would the better ungrade.

spk,

An exhaust system will get you mandrel bends and larger diameter pipes, more flow lower EGT's and better turbo spool up. Replacing the muffer will help, but it won't get you the same results as a system will. Call us if you have any questions etc.

A pryometer would be the better up-grade. If you have a kitty, I am sorry. Obviously the system will give you better flow, but a low resistrictive muffler will help considerably. In order to determine what you need I think the pyrometer to measure EGT is a better up-grade. EGT will depend on your tune, air/exhaust flow, load, and driving habits.

IMO, The full exhaust is the choice if your pulling on the weekends.
For a cheaper install, I added a straight through pipe connected with a cutout to my stock piping. Cutout is installed before the muffler (engine side). Might be loud for pulling though.

I call it a poor man's duals.
