Anyone have one of these? I just received mine yesterday and wondering how many quarts of gear oil I need to put in. Best I can tell from research is 8 quarts. Anyone know how much I need to buy to fill er up?

As a side note to the install, you can also re-use the parking brake cable bracket at the top of the diff by modifying it slightly. Some re-use the bracket, others have left it off when they installed the Mag Hytec.

I mod'd and re-used mine.

I was thinking about that as I am going to install it today and I read where they have removed the botton and center bolts on the new cover so I was thinking about how to do this. Thanks..Jabs

Installed Mag Hytec AA-14-11.5 Differential cover yesterday and used the information supplied regarding the modification of the brake line holders it worked out sweet. These covers are very a must for every Duramax truck as I have yet to see one that the stock cover is not rusted and the paint peeling due to high heat.

I first repainted the rear axle with high temperature 500 degree paint and then installed the new cover it looks fantastic and better yet no leaks. Very easy to check oil with the dip stick and with the 7.4 quarts of 85W - 140W synthetic oil it should last 50K miles or so before I have to change it again. With the towing I do it will most certainly save wear and tear on the rear axle gears and components. Thanks to all who sent me information regarding this project..Jabs
