I just bought my first Chevy DMax/Allison truck, '05 CC SB 4X4...LOVE IT! I traded in my '97 Dodge Cummins. Wow, what a difference! Cummins engine was nice, but the truck surrounding it was falling apart. I did have a million questions, but this is one awsome site and most have been answered. The stealer gave me a brake controller already set up with the GM plug; do I need to worry about programming anything in the trucks computer, or simply plug it in and pull away? Thanks in advance.:ro)

Should not need any "Programing", which brand/model is the controller?

Yeah, plug and play-------but make sure you add a 30 or 40 (can't remember which) amp fuse in the "stud 1" position in the fuse panel under the hood. RR.

Congrats on the new truck! Your Dmax will shame your old Dodge Lamb in every way.
Enjoy!

Thanks Guys for all the kind words. I did happen to find the "towing" section soon after I posted this question, sorry for the off content question. I am more impressed by this truck every day. There really is no comparison to the old rig.
The brake controller I received is a "Reese - pod", very basic controller. I had a Tekonsha Sentinal (Still have one in my Wife's Mitubishi Montero). Hope this will work fine for me. I'll do some homework. Thanks again.

Is that true? I haven't yet hooked mine up, but my wiring harness that came with the truck says you don't need the fuse if the truck has the dual battery option, which all diesels should have... Guess I better go check...
The fuse was also included with the harness, but it was a 40A and my Prodigy says use either a 20A or 30A... (just an fyi)

The 40A fuse is not for controller power but for the power to the trailer for charging the trailer battery.
