It's the newest design that is suppose to separate water better than the older versions. I find they are slightly easier to change due to the thinner body.

I've never read any claims its seperates the water better. Its actually the exact same media that was in the steel canister but in a plastic one. Its still a good filter and many find it easier to get on and off due to the thinner body as said above.

The New Racor Coalescer filter is the one built for GM's AC/Delco line and is is making the claims of better water sepration as well as longer life.

I carry both filters in stock if you or anybody else wants to try either one. There is a link to the New Racor filter in my signature.

The Racor is a 4 micron filter. Anyone know what the NAPA/Wix filter is?

Wix 33960 & Napa 3960 Fuel Filter is a 4 micron rated. The previous version 33910 / 3910 was 2 micron rated.

The previous version was the same 4 micron rating. The new filter is the exact same media in the canister that was in the old 33910/3910. The only difference is the canister is plastic and slimmed down towards the bottom making it a thinner body on the filter.

Appears you are correct from the WIX online info! But I am going to consult my older paper spec book to make sure as for some reason memory has the the 33810 to 33910 update going from 4 micron to 2 micron.

Memory could be suspect as I am in the second half of my first century:eek:

The Racor is what comes on your truck from the factory. Racor makes the AC Delco filter which uses the new coalescer filter media. Personally, I wouldnt run anything else out there.
