that makes it really easy then... as Chevy commonly used dual tanks on these trucks... my old civvy has the stuff in it. I have the tank, and the selector switch, and the mounts. Where are you located?

In our 1986 Chev C30 DRW I have a 33 gal tank from a 84 Chev G20 van in place of the rear tire and I have a 20 gal. tank on the passenger side. I have a 6.2L so I use the passenger side for gasoline for our generator. With our heavy camper mounted we can go about 700 miles on the 53 gal of diesel.

Hmmm I dont think I could feasibly ship a used gas tank from NY.... but I could the rest of the stuff, leaving you with only having to buy a tank.

Does anyone know if the plumbing was different for a gas vs a diesel?

Tanks are the same, just different sending units. Too bad, I through a couple away last year.:(

My 1986 C30 use to be a gasser and the tank sending unit works fine with diesel. Same thing when I had the 6.2L in my 1970 Chev C20. The sending unit is just a wire wound coil with a wiper on it to read the resistance.

might be some different fittings for the diesel fuel lines...
