I am going to be systematic for once in my life. First thing is a pyrometer. Is there an advantage to any one brand over the other? Autometer, VDO, etc,?
Damn, Just looking at DPP there are a bunch, same manufacture, big range in price.
Best price/place to purchase would be great as well.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have the Auto Meter Ultra-Lite in my truck; great performance and looks. Isspro enhanced visibility are good also, especially if you do a lot of night driving and the pyrometers have color coded backgrounds for simple understanding of where you are at temperature wise.

I also have the Autometer Ultra-Lites, they have an exposed pyrometer tip which provides a fast response. 2+ years so far and no problems.

Utundra,
Any of the name brands will get you good performance and reliability. You have to make the call if you want a basic looking gauge or one of the high tech ones like the Cobalts or C2's etc. They use stepper motors to operate the gauge, slightly more accurate and have high tech lighting etc. The regular gauges will do fine for most folks and you just have to decide what "look" is right for you. Call us if you have any questions etc we will be glad to help.

I got one of the Autometer Nexus line. Its a little pricey however the ease of instalation was well worth it for me. All I have is one wire going to my gauge pod, and all the gauges daisy chain off it. Usually you will have to get wires to each gauge which usually makes a mess of wires depending on where you mount them. As far as where to get them, some places are cheaper but I found most are around the same price. I usually look for a dealer thats going to be around and is willing to help when the time comes.

For me, it came down to lighting. That's the reason I went with the DiPricols. They seem to have some of the best lighting out there for the money in analog gauges. So far, it's one of the bests decisions I've made in modding this truck.
