i am just lookin for some advice and just tryin to get an idea of how difficult or easy it would be. I have a 4l80e right now on my 93' 6.5 diesel. i am wondering if the NV4500 5-speed would bolt up to the 6.5? if it does than i know that i have to pop the panal out from under the truck for the shifter, intstal a cluch pedel and linkege. would i have to change the computer in my truck? will the NV4500 bult up to the transfer case? do i have to change the sterring column? what about drive shafts? im just looking for info on this idea. im still trying to pay for my second engine rebuild so it will be a while before i try to do this.

awsome, im glad to hear about the computer, i hate wireing, the cross member work doesn't bother me any, sounds like it might be easyer to get a doner truck to help get the parts togeter for the swap, how far along are you in the swap?

You might want to consider selling off what you have right here on Dieselplace. There are those who might need the parts.
If its wiring I can throw you tips of the trade.
Use cast iron crimpers and never those you typically see used. Spend the money or go to a pawn shop and look for a good set. The cast iron crimpers do a much better job of crimping making the wiring last much, much longer. Cheaper crimpers only cause problems in the long run.
If you need advice on wire sizes, fusable links ect.. let me know. I will be glad to help out.
