I pulled the trigger last night. Drove 30 minutes with my beloved wife with the intention of simply test driving a 6.6 and checking out the tan interior. We ended up getting a deal we couldn't pass on, and left the dealership at 11pm in the Duramax.

I looked at buying a couple months ago. Glad we didn't because I feel like we got a great deal on this truck. They guys made it right, took my 8.1 SLT 2003 Sierra HD for a great price, and sent us out the door in the Diesel.

I'm now a proud LLY owner, but have to give the 8.1 its props--never had a problem with that engine. :ro)

Got my One week ago today.):h Black 2500HD Silverado LT Crew Cab with Tan interior Short Bed. They gave me a great deal on my 2001 Black 1500HD Silverado LT with Tan interior. That 6.0 gas engine did me proud with no issues ever but the gas mileage was killing me. Already seeing a difference in power and fuel mileage. Only have 500 miles on it so far.

I picked mine up yesterday chevy 2500hd crewcab 4x4 dmax. I traded a 2002 2500hd with the 6.0 too. It was a great truck and pulled great,but the milage sucked. I couldn't believe how good the duramax runs and how much power and how quiet. I have got a buddy that just bought a Ford250 diesel and he rod with me to pick up the dmax, he said he wished he'd bought the dmax which made me feel good. I have no regrets at all on trading up. I can't wait to take it on the road and see how the milage is compared to my old 6.0. I'm taking it Friday to get some new tires and get rid of those 245s. That 6.0 gas couldn't pass up a gas station.....

I bought a truck Monday like that but Chevrolet, white cc sb with tan leather interior, and the duramax is the first diesel i owned and I will never buy another truck that isn't diesel

I have to add that the 2005 Sierra is a crew cab with a standard box, just like the 8.1 I traded.


I"m already impressed with the fuel economy; I have 132 miles on her and haven't even cracked 3/4 tank! The Big Block would be knocking on the half tank mark.

I too traded in my GMC 6.0 for a new DMax a few months ago. I bought it too early to take advantage of the employee discount, but I was able to use a suppliers discount and got it at about the same price. The difference between the 6.0 gasser and my Duramax is amazing. The power and milage are what still impresses me. Like SCguy2500 said "6.0 could not pass up a gas station". I am saving 1 if not 2 tanks of fuel a month thanks to the DMax. That makes extra money for more toys:D . Now I just need to get the exhaust. :ro)

Sometimes I think about getting another truck. I am kinda waiting on the next redesign, I want the six speed allison proven somewhat, a sunroof, in-dash DVD/satellite navigation, and more hydroforming in the frame along with a body/interior update.

When that stuff happens then the 04.5 will get traded in and maybe we will get two 07's or 08's (whatever the model is that has the changes I listed). Either that or one new 07 or 08 along with an SLK55 AMG. I really like that car.

Otherwise the 04.5 LLY we have now will be around a good while, we really like the truck, one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.
