I need to replace my idler, pitman arm and tie rods. I drive mainly highway and the truck is stock with the torsion bars cranked up a little. I want to buy good parts but dont want to spend a fortune doing it. What are some recommendations? Thanks for any advice

for OE style stuff use Moog.

Wasn't OE GM parts the recommended route, i thought i remember reading on another thread that the dealer parts were the only ones that would hold up.

Cognito recommends Moog and I have read than the Moogs hold up better than OE GM.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. Is that the same for tie rod's?

havent heard anything about tie rods. I would go Cognito HDs I believe they are around same price as OE.

I jumped the gun and bought oe inner tierods, but found out later i could have gotten the HD tie rod assembly from cognito for alittle more (less if you include the sleeves i bought)

I've seen the Moog stuff with some fitment issues in the Pitman arm fit to the splines on the gear box. Not sure if that has been resolved, but for a while it would not fit right and be loose.

That being said, no OEM or aftermarket OE replacement arm will hold up with a big tire or modded suspension. They would all benefit from some support brackets

I just installed a Moog pitman arm and it wont go as far on the shaft as the original was it's about a 1/4 inch from were the other one was and the nut is just past being flush with the end of the shaft. Any thoughts?
