How does everyone stop front wheel hop ?
If I try to come out with too much boost, I get a small amount of front wheel hop. I have Caltrac bars and clamped springs in the back.
(I May need "more tire" but I get off road some and I'm not sure what to buy that would work, but then tires may be for another post site) See sig. for build.
Any suggestions ?

When I build too much boost on the launch, I get quite a bit of front tire spin. The truck will pull right and then take off. I don't have any hop. I'm running stock tires(32psi), stock shocks, and have my bars lowered all the way to the stops. My guess would be the t-bars lowered and the tire pressure are the way to stop hop.

What shocks and or settings if you have rancho's?

For general info:
At the track, I have T-bars lowered and run 33 lbs in the front on 265x75x16 BFG KOs. I have Bilstein shocks all the way around.
Maybe I ned to lower the pressure in the front more, but somewhere it may get squirley down the track and start creating too much drag.
Any more advance ?

I had a wierd hop issue when I had my fronts set all the way soft and rears set firm. It wasnt like a regular wheel hop deal, I made it a few feet, front came up fast and hard, front tires uloaded and the rears came out same time, truck setled down and the process repeated. This whats happening to you? It was more of a bucking than what I would normaly call wheel hop.
What are your backs set at? You sure you just not breaking traction getting a bit of wheel hop all the way around?

Also remember in 4x4 you cant really break traction on the fronts and not the rears or vice vrsa

Ratlover,
I may infact just be braking traction a little front/back? like you say.
There are only a few hops or whatever it is.
My rear tires were set at 33lbs also.
I may be needing stickier tires and then tie down the front end atleast with a strap as I have read others are doing. But I am on the search to see what you other guys are doing.
Thanks for the help,
Greg

air down the backs. run more in the front than the back and less in the back then you think you probably should. Start with 35 or so up front and 30 in back and see were that that puts ya, work down from there.
You have your traction bars right on the springs or a bit of preload or what?

Ratlover,
I will try the tire pressures you describe next time. I know I have seen tire pressures lower than what I have used.
I wonder if any one has tested as to when the ET increases end, because of low tire pressure drag. I'm a little concerned with the truck handling stability at the higher speeds.
Also, I have about an 1/8th clearance between my bars and the springs for a slight preload.
What clearance do you recommend ?
