Still having problems finding the right exhaust for my truck. It’s a 1993 ext cab 3500 that I had planed on running a single 4 inch stack on. My only concern is how loud it will be since I some times the wife and baby take long trips with me in the truck. I love the sound of the open pipes but I am worried that it might be too loud venting right behind them.

Any ideas or input is welcome.

I love my 6" Mitre cut, But I get vibration in the cab from that Plastic piece that is right behind the seat (mine is a single cab) I did have a 4" turn out and it sounded very nice and it was quieter with less vibration. I say go for a 4" turn out.

If you are married and your wife may not like loudness, why do you want a stack?

Just get a regular exhaust with muffler from several vendor, take your pick. If you like the stack, then just put a fake one just for look. LOL.

If I were you I would just buy a 4" exhaust with a muffler. You get the sound outside but not that much sound inside the cab so you can keep the wifey happy.

Don't completely agree with you... Dmax's look and sound good with a single miter cut half stack.

i'm running no cat and a flowmaster and a 3in stack and it sounds pretty mean but not that loud in the cab and its a single cab, so that might be an i dea

Here's my current setup on my pickup. 2.5" crossover. 3" mandrel bent DP. 4" straight pipe to 5" stacks. Before the dual 5" stacks i was running a single 4" stack. The drone from the single 4" was much worse than the dual 5"s. It's still loud but with the windows up I can live with it. Windows down during the summer it's a blast to drive. :D

Those are some cool setups. Also where did each of you get them? Also on the one that awspc has, did you get the stacks off a big truck? I'm wondering if your Chevy blackened the tips or if it was from the truck they were previously on because that adds to the look.

Yes i got the stacks of a semi. Yes my truck made them black. made the desined the stack system with a buddy of mine that owens a exhuast shop 100% custom

The bug shield isn't chrome, its stainless steel :cool: :D. I bought it at summit racing for like $50 (over half off) or something like that. It was on closeout or whatever... so they don't sell it anymore.
