sdimekasper 02-21-2010, 12:15 PM wow i just noticed its in the wrong section, mod please move..
Bartman432 02-21-2010, 02:50 PM I have have the Banks Ram-Air intake filter, with the super scoop attachment. I've never had a problem with this unit. No code ever thrown. The guy who did my dyno run advised me that the Bank's kit is one of, if not the best one available for our trucks.

Robby Avery 02-21-2010, 05:55 PM Banks ram air has my vote real nice kit and setup!
sdimekasper 02-21-2010, 07:41 PM i like the banks set up, i was lookin at the volant intake and the nice part about the volant setup is that u have the option of running the powercore filter.
Robby Avery 02-21-2010, 07:52 PM It's all in what your preference is buddy.

yea i know im just a lil undecided at the moment. i know banks is real good stuff. yet ive heard bad things about oil filters. kinda rather stick to dry element.
DSTRBD 02-22-2010, 02:15 PM Banks makes a real nice setup, but the price turns most people away. I suggest looking at S&B. They have excellent flow and filtration and are priced right.
Tyler@MPF 02-22-2010, 02:30 PM I have run several different set-ups on my LMM, and I decided to stick with the S&B. If I can help with any questions let me know.
D/AChris 02-22-2010, 03:28 PM I thought unless you go over 500rwhp, no real gain with an aftermarket setup? Just wondering. I just opened the fender up to match the size of the stock opening where it meets the fender and an AFE PG7 filter. Chris
Tyler@MPF 02-22-2010, 03:43 PM I saw a nice seat of the pants gain. I also saw a reduction of smoke by adding a aftermarket intake.

X2, power under the curve definitely goes up. I like the AEM Brute Force HD and it is what I run on my truck.

yea i was lookin at the s&b and its a dry filter so thats a plus. yea i understand that you mite not feel a real gain, but if it improves mpg by a lil i'll be happy. also i wanna get the egts down a bit.
AlligatorPerformance 02-23-2010, 12:42 AM Having ran the S&B and the Banks, I saw the best mileage increase (1 mpg) with the Banks Ram Air and Super Scoop, as well as the lowest intake air temps while cruising (between 1 & 5 degrees of outside air temperature). I'll continue to run the Banks until I find another unit that works better.

sdimekasper 02-23-2010, 01:11 AM with the scoop did you ever get water/snow all the way up to the filter?? cause it seems it wouldnt be too hard for it to get up up there if your goin 80mph.

We have had great luck with the AEM also.

The Scoop has a vent, that is inteneded to allow the snow and rain to exit before reaching the intake.

yeah i read that. im just tryin to find out if that really works. what they say might not always be true.
AlligatorPerformance 02-23-2010, 02:13 PM No, it's never filled up with snow at all, the venturi's at the back take care of keeping moisture out, and air in. Well worth the price of admission to me.
sdimekasper 02-24-2010, 12:04 PM ah ok, well looks like thats goin to be on my list. when i get more money ahhaha
