Hi, I'm trying to get some input on what kind of unit would be good to get to use with a back up camera. i'd rather have a double din unit as opposed to the motorized flip up ones. don't care for that. I have a 2002 gmc 3500 without onstar. anyone else have one they'd recommend? thanks.

big question there.

depends on stereo goals, double DIN is far superior to a flip out, you're right there.

there are rumors that EDGE is coming out with the CTS insight that is just gauges, no tunes, with the ability to add the backup camera to it. That way you could keep your stock radio if you wished.

I've got a pioneer avic-x910bt double din no motorized screen ,nav, dvd,hd radio, ipod, bluetooth,sd slot. It's got inputs for a backup camera. I really like the radio so far ,it can be had on ebay for a little under $600. I've been toying with adding a camera to it but I'd rather have a wireless camera so I can move it to the back of the camper when I tow but I haven't seen many options for that yet.

For an '02, you'll have to modify the dash to fit a double din. You have a DIN 1.5. It appears to be pretty straight forward, though.
