Hey guys I just got my 2005 k2500 dmax two weeks ago. It came with a 75 horse EFI Live tune. Well today I decided to get on it and yea I Limped it. Not once but twice!! I was just wondering what I should do to replace the trans? Get all billit parts or just throw a Suncoast or ATS in it? What stage should I get? I am new to this and dont want to buy something that I am going to tear right back out.

You can get billet input/output shafts, and flex plate from SunCoast. As well as the new 5-Pac.

What stage depends on your plans, however go big so you don't have to do it again!

Where would I get that? About how much? Everyone was telling me that the 75 horse would hold up to the stock trans but I guess not.

www.suncoastconverters.com, i think for all the billet parts it's around 1,400.

I would venture that the previous owner got a lil crazy with the tranny.

You have a few choices. Suncoast, ATS, PPE, or Mike L kits. All are great kits from the post here. I have the Suncoast IV and 1056 converter. Been in about 6 months and running great. If you plan to do Durmax Internal mods then I would not bother with billet parts. Billet parts seem to be needed when you reach the 800HP or over tuning. But this will require some internal rebuild of the Duramax to stay together. Up to too you if wanting to spend the extra. Now you may have limped it a couple times its not gonna fully quit in a day or too. You have plenty of time to figure out what you want and when to do it.

Guaranteed that trans has seen tunes in the 120 hp range if it limped that quick.
Depends on how much HP/TQ you want to hold. Do some searching here and look at whats out there.

yes, if you limped on a 75 tune that trans has been abused before. i dont think you should be looking for a trans kit you should be looking for a builder. mike l. and big dipper are two of the best if you are close to one of them. you can also check out merchant, suncoast, ats locations. you can have the best kit in the world but if its not put together right its not going to do shit for you.
