well my truck has about 35000 miles on it. For about the seventh time my serpentine belt is squealing, and my cruise control doesnt work. Should I take out my six gun? Its a pain in the A$$ but these two issues arent even related to my chip. What do you guys think?

The advice I've always seen is:

Out of sight out of mind...

That means take it off.

Also, if i get a warranty block couldnt someone clear it for me?

If worse comes to worse, its only a $30 dollar belt.

Also, Ive tuned my ECM with the Pred. So they know I had some kind of chip anyway

I bought some Prestone Belt Dressing from Wal Mart, When I spray it on it stops for about 2-3 days, but on a cold morning it will squeal. It is really annoying

Belt dressing is the way to go.
Not on a serpentine belt it isn't..
Belt dressing is for v-belts..
either use a bit of soap on it, as suggested...or use silicone spray on it

Pull the six gun, return the Pred to stock and take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warrenty.
Or leave it all on and pay to have it fixed.
If/next time I have to take the truck back to the dealer it will take me close to 2hrs to get ready.

For $30 bucks I would change it myself and save the PITA of removing the Banks.

If this the seventh belt you have changed then I would suggest getting in and having them find out what is misaligned or what is tearing them up.

I just put a gatorback on my 03 and all of my weird power steering noises went away. I thought it was the pump but it is now 100% quiet. I had to order at PepBoys, they list all of them on their website, make sure you order the right belt! Need to know alternator size, 1 or 2 alts, and whether or not you have an air pump.

Regarding the cruise, did you call your sales rep? The day I installed the 6-gun I called him to find our their "policy" on tuners. His answer was it's OK, they they will fix problems not related to the Banks with the Banks installed. I have to say though that the cruise is part of the engine control system and some dealers would probably say disconnect it anyways before they do anything due to potential interference.

Is the expense of future injectors worth removing the chip? Hell yes! If you take it in with a chip they will void the warranty on engine and electrical components, injectors included.

So unless you are loaded with $, then quit being lazy and remove the chip before taking it to the dealer. :badidea:  :damnit1:

Autozone has Goodyear Gators in stock. Only reason I visit them (bad customer service here).

Yank the chip and have em fix the cruise. If you keep eating belts then you have a problem elsewere, have them fix it or it will nver end.
