Does anyone know where I can rent a enclosed trailer from? Something like a 8.5x22 would be great. I have to pick up some things from Cali and U-Hual trailers are just too small. Any help would be great!

rb - you are hauling from cali to pa? wow. what a haul.

uhaul is terrible. you'll make your reservation, they will take tons of money from you then not even have your trailer like they 'thought' they would. can you tell i'm still bitter?

so... more recently, i was in a similar situation as you. i decided to just buy a used trailer, use it for my hauls and sell it when i'm done.

i found one on ebay. i paid $4k for it. same size you are talking about. guy i bought it from drove his race cars right into the back of it. when i'm finished with it, i'll sell it for the same price. actually, i think i'll do a bit better because the trailer had a couple features he did not advertise. anyway.... uhaul did not rent trailers that big, just trucks. it would have costs thousands, so even if i paid too much for the trailer, i'm still in good shape and i'm very flexible with timing or anything else. with the internet, we live in an age where the market for anything is getting liquid and tight, so it's becoming more reasonable to buy and sell without getting whacked on transaction costs. it used to be where you had to buy new then sell through the paper for a huge discount.

i know a guy here in minneapolis that wants to sell a trailer this size. you could pick it up on way to cali, and sell it when you get back to pa.
