I read somewhere that the atpa rules for 05' say that the max. wheelbase you can have is 158". Is this right, because I have a crew cab long bed chevy and its wheelbase is around 164.5"? All the rules I've read say factory 1-ton suspension frames and axles, so why can't a crew cab long bed pull. Is it another rule that was built around the dodge's when the couldn't get crew cabs. I hope I'm wrong because this doesn't seem fair at all.-:t

I've been doing a little more looking and even called a ATPA # and the guy told me that they made it 158" because that is what most of the trucks are and that it would be unfare to have a longer length than that. Funny thing is that the wheelbase was 157" and they changed it for the dodge cab and a 1/2 so that they would be able to pull, how conveniant:mad: . He told me I could maybe pull in an open class:eek:. Yeah right talk about unfair, just because I didn't buy a shortbed I have to pull against guys with a bottomless bank account. It seems to me that bigger turbos are more handicaping than anything but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get to pull so whats the big deal with 6 more inches of wheelbase? Surely I'm not the only crew cab long bed out there that would like to pull at these events. It makes me sick to my stomach to think I spent all this time and money for them to not let me pull because I have a long bed-:t . The DHRA rules aren't like this are they, or am I left to watch from the sidelines.
