: Power steering fluid from steering gear box

I replaced my idler and pitman arms last weekend due to the excessive toe-in/out play and while I was pulling the pitman arm off the steering gear box, as I probably had about 300+ ft/lbs of torque on the puller just before it finally broke loose, I started getting power steering fluid leaking out of the top of the steering gear box where the steering wheel shaft enters the gear box. Is this a bad thing? I don't know why this happened except for all the torque applied to the output shaft of the box maybe. After putting it all together everything seems fine, no obvious sign of leaking, had the wife run the steering back and forth to the stops while I inspected underneath, not sure what this was all about. I had to remove the box from the frame to get the puller on but I didn't remove anything else, I just needed the clearence for the puller. Hoses and fittings are fine. I hope I didn't screw it up. Anyone know about this or why this would happen?

Thanks,
Tim
