I just started towing with my dmax (3500) now at 12,000 miles. Never had any exhaust leaks or noises when under load. Now, I just bought a '95 30' Prowler travel trailer. It weighs about 7500lbs or so. When pulling up a steep grade, it sounds like I have a manifold leak or something. Just seems to be louder than normal. This whole issue is totally new as i have never heard this before.

After dropping the trailer, If i floor it, it makes the same noise but not as noticeable as when under load.

Anyone else have the same experience?

Anyone have a really loud CLUNK when they open the drivers side door? Jesus, I've got to get that fixed. The dealer said that they have to replace some assembly in the door that holds it open when on a hill. Kind of dissapointing on a $40,000.00 truck. Passenger door is starting to make a small clunk now too :mad:

I believe what you are hearing is the pilot injection turning off @ 2500rpm's, totally normal. Sounds like an older diesel when this happens, almost like an exhaust leak or an older gasser when they would ping.
