this weekend i had a oil leak show up on my truck. One question is, is there a blow by breather on the front passange side of the motor? and if there is should there be a hose be attached to it? also i noticed my oil pressure drop lower than normal but not to zero. after letting it set over nite i started the truck and the oil pressure was normal. So what do you all think? is there something i should be looking for?

there is a breather on the front of the motor. if i recall there is not a tube attached.

what oil pressure are you seeing at idle cold and hot?

at cold and after running an awile it staysn about 40 and climbs as high as 80 then yesterday it was as low as 14 up to 30 at the highest after runnig awile. And yesterday was the first time i noticed oil dropping off the bottom of the motor. I had a really plugged air filter and swapped it to a k&n with in the last week. all this showed up yesterday after pulling a trailer that i have been pulling with a fourwheeler on it. also down around the pipe is the only place i see oil and it does look like a hose came off of it

you should be seeing about 60psi hot while on the interstate and about 20-30 hot while at idle.

Ok what could poss. be the problem? why would it push oil like that out the breather like that and show up like that. I am kinda at a loss. and i dont know where to go from here

this is really crazy cuz it just showed up. I dont know if the oil is going everywhere due to running in a lot of snow and slush. what could need cleaned or replaced? could it be pushing pil due to the filter needing to be changed?

Check your oil level. You could have an injector leaking fuel into the oil overfilling it and spilling out the breather. This will also cause the low oil pressure if the oil is fuel dilluted.

I checked my oil and it seemed ok. also i smelled the oil and no scent of fuel also i used clean white towels and wiped off the dip stick and it doesnt look like there is any dillution with fuel. but thanks i guess i am going have to take it to a diesel shop this week

you can do a halo test.

take a piece of paper and drip some oil on it. let it set for a min or two and and if there is a defined halo around the oil spot there is fuel in your oil

so just take a few drops of oil on a piece of paper and let it set? I guess i will try that. oil looks a little lite in color

upon puting the oil on the paper some drew into paper and there is a little puddle of oil in the middle. will all the oil draw into the paper?

if you see a distinct halo around the drop of oil then you have fuel in your oil

a halo appeared and once the oil soaked in the paper i could smell the faint ness of diesel fuel. now i have been told that there may be a lifetime warrenty on injecters? I have a feeling that is what is going on

No lifetime warranty....7 years from inservice date or 200k miles, whichever comes first. If you're still under that, find a good dealer who'll take care of it for you.
Read thru this forum and you'll find LOTS of info on the injectors.....
