: CD player is not working.
Capt Sport 06-20-2005, 07:30 PM The other day my radio hick-uped IE. the power went out for just a second and when it came back on the CD player wouldn't work. Now there's a CD stuck in it and it won't recognize that it's in there. Everything else works fine just won't play the CD and won't eject the CD either. Anybody have an idea on how to fix it? :help2:
Oh yeah, the radio is the stock radio without XM.
Thanks for your help,
jr
SmoknDmax 06-21-2005, 12:38 AM Have the same problem with pretty much the exact same story. My radio shut off on mine. When I looked over at it, the clock was reset to 12:00. All the presets are still in there, but it doesn't know it has a CD in it. Can't get the CD out now.
Took it in to dealer and they are ordering a replacement. Will be interesting to find out if they will replace my CD!
Capt Sport 06-21-2005, 01:47 PM SmoknDmax,
It's nice to know I'm not loosing my mind. That's exactly what happened to my radio. ??? Just trying to avoid going to the Stealer and loosing my truck for a day or probably much longer. :(

Goldneye 06-21-2005, 03:04 PM Same here, now I don't fill left out.
Here is what I did pulled the fuse to the radio (did not work.) Started the truck the next day and it has worked fine since (go figure) I had even called the dealer to take it in, I called him back and told him it was working. dealer says that is a comen problem with the bose radios. The bumer part is that he wanted to pull my stereo for 2 weeks while he woked on it. Go figure
rpidelt 06-21-2005, 04:02 PM You guys are not alone, I just picked up the truck from the dealer today after they fixed it. They thought they would have to replace the whole unit but it turns out there is a GM service bulletin on it, or so I was told. Since the truck is only a couple weeks old I figured I'd let the dealer fix it and didn't even try to fix it myself. The work order from the dealer says they "reprogrammed" the radio, what ever that means.

Jaime
wellman 06-23-2005, 10:33 PM Lost mine also. Eight months old, everything but cd worked, presets included. Could it have something to do with playing Velvet Revolver a little to loud?
Dealer ordered new, several days later, replaced within about an hour. Always bring Service Manager donuts.:)
SmoknDmax 06-24-2005, 12:49 AM I was at my dealer on a saturday which meant they couldn't make the call to order a new radio. They confirmed that the CD was stuck and stated they would place an order for a new unit.
Since that visit, I read that there is a software problem with the radios. I don't know if that means they can upload the new software and the CD will then eject?????
My dealer left the radio in the truck while they try and get a replacement.
2500hd05 06-28-2005, 02:21 PM happened to me to. i get a call from my wife asking me how to get the cd player to work. she pushed the eject button 7 times and the cd came about 1/4" out just able to grab it and pull it out. so i traded the truck in for a diesel.
speedracer 06-28-2005, 03:00 PM My CD player is finicky, it sometimes will not play a CD, until it reads it for 5 or 6 times. Its the pitts, there must be a secret handshake that I am unaware of.
jims11296 07-11-2005, 07:55 PM This happened to me twice, on my third replacement. Service guy couldn't tell me a thing except they been having problems. Didnt get my CD's back either
smokin dmax 07-13-2005, 01:44 PM Same deal here. I kept on hitting eject for about a min and it finally came out. I tried to un-plug the wiring harness and reset it. It starting working again, but broke again that night. Guess its time for a Alpine/Eclipse - those are the two main brands they sell arouned here.
jolds 07-14-2005, 11:33 PM Last night I experienced the CD player not working.
I called the GM garage in my area and they told me to:
1st Make sure truck is off
2nd Remove the fuse under the hood for at least 30 seconds
make sure you dont remove the one labels radio/amp this fuse will not solve your ploblem.
3rd This should get your cd out. then take it to your dealer and get the latest software upgrade installed.
They also told me this is a common thing with the Bose systems
and there is also another update coming out that solves the problem when the player doesnt accept your cd's.
keep posting Its been of great help to me
Later all!!!:ro)
kwhitlow 07-15-2005, 12:11 AM My 2002 did the "hiccup" thing...reset the time and turned itself off. Now every time I try to start the truck with a CD in I get an "Err" on the radio display.
