Hey guy's -
I've got a 2006 LLY 38k completely stock, and was wondering how many of you use an additive/cetane booster regulary to your fuel tank before fill up's??
Personnally, I use Pwr. Service......a habit that continued from when I had my '99 Ford F-250 w/ 7.3 Navistar. I generally add it to tank at every fill. The dealer didn't say if it really mattered or not....he didn't recommend it, nor did he state using it was good or bad.......personnal choice he said.
Haven't had any problems since I owned the truck, but at $10-12 a container, was wondering if I'm throwing my $$ out the door.

How big of a container are you adding?

The container I buy treats 250-300 gallons....so it lasts for about 10 fill up's I guess.

I use flashlube...100ml per 26 gallons. 10 tank fulls per quart. seems to work real well but not the easiest to get in the u.s. also the manual for my d-max states stanadyn

I use Stanadyne Performance Formula at each fill-up, and as of late, I've been adding a dose of Stanadyne Lubricity formula ta boot.

On Edit: Kolb Diesel in Evansville, IN says they wouldn't run Power Service in a diesel engine if their lives depended on it, but when I've tried it in my truck I swear the engine sounds smoother. I dunno, but it just feels like it is running better. Anyways, I still use the Stanadyne because that's what I started with way back when.

Read the thread about 2 cycle oil. Many have tried it and are now believers.

i used to use Power Service Diesel Kleen and winter the Fuel Supplement by them. However seeing the the HFRR Test, I am going to stick with 2 Stroke Oil, I Use either Amsoil or Quicksilver 2 stroke Oil. Then Once a Month or Twice if i feel like it i buy the power service additive. Opti-Lube I think had one of the highest next to a bio additive. I usually use with every tankful...26gallons about a quart and half or just a quart

I ran it religiously on the last set of injectors. Only got 55K out of them. I am now a disbeliever and have come to the conclusion that it makes no difference.
