I have the Bose system in my truck. Im adding subs and an amp. Where is everyone tapping into the speaker wires for the line converter? Can I hook into the wires in the console for the rear audio controls?

The thing to do is buy an aftermarket radio with preouts. I have tapped into the speakers before, it will work but you will have problems with your fade and sound quality.

I know that would be better, I'm not ready for a different radio yet. Ive done several of my vehicles this way, just not sure the easiest place to find speaker wires.

Doesent bose have an amp? I think my installer said there was and it is under the center console. you might be able to tap into that. Just a thought though.

Line level inputs are weak.

the easiest place I would imagine would be behind the HU.

The bose amp is under the center console... I would look there for the easiet place to tap, then run your rca's under the carpet from there back

since the bose has preamp out puts couldnt you just run 2 y adapters into the preouts thats there

I think in my Grand Prix I tapped the wires right out of the amp in the trunk. Ill prob just dig into the console.

Do you know a part number or brand for that adapter?

The Y adapter can be bought at pretty much any store. And very cheap. You would need 2.

Here is what we are talking about:

Ahh. I know what those are. I dont think a Bose amp uses RCA cables. At least the ones I have seen. The last one I did was 2003 though.

so what did you end up doing ? from what i have done it is better to use the pre out signal wires( non amplified signal wires usually from the head unit to get best quality )

just wondering which wires they are on an 08 lmm ltz with nav.
