That's about my target date to replace my 2006 LBZ truck and go from a short box to a long box. As I tow a lot it looks like improvements in that area as well.

I do editorial reviews on new vehicles for my other business and have the new Ford diesel lined up - along with the Raptor as well - trying to see if my GM contact has any dates for a test drive for me for the new Duramax...

That truck is so mean it makes me want to go back to getting another diesel:)

Ahh, the initial excitement... But then comes the DEF liquid every 5,000 miles. I will wait until someone figures out how to get around that. My LLY has 128,000 on it now, is paid for and been mostly trouble free.:)

X2 in silver! Looks like I'm in when EFI can eliminate DEF!

Looks good! I read a few articles and saw some vids. They all said more hp and more torque. Any idea on what the numbers are?

I've looked around the web and can find lots of info on DEF but anyone know how much it sells for? Not a single price anywhere I looked.

~2.50 cents per gallon....

Says its gonna have a 36 gallon tank.

This may steer me back towards GM and away from one of the other competitors. Sure wish they would have addressed the lack of storage inside the cab though -- at least give a real console that can be organized and proper truck sized door pockets like both Dodge & Ford have.

The rest of the package looks good though, and I really like the idea of a 36 gallon tank.

I know it's for fuel mileage but, OMG that front end is low.

I bet you can remove that 'chin' spoiler fairly easily...that should gain you at least 3" or so. Which still isnt great, but its better than stock.

1st off, i would like to say hello to eveyone since this is my 1st post. I read somewhere that the bolt pattern was going to be different. Obviously it would still be 8 Lug but the new wheels couldn't be put on the older trucks so I assume you can't put the older wheels on the new truck. I hate that they did that because I cant carry aftermarket wheels with me. Other than that I would trade the LBZ in ASAP.

alstick

Well they already did that by going from a standard 8 bolt to the metric 8 bolt, and Ford added a 7 stud wheel to their heavy 1/2 tons. I'm not sure what they would change it too.
Its the same now with all the different rim sizes. I have 18's on my Chevy and the tires are stupid expensive I won't do that again. Due to the amount of driving & towing my Duramax see's I burn through a set of rear tires a year and fronts every two.

I like everything about it except the urea injection and the independent front suspension. But I've gotten used to the IFS so I can deal with that. I wonder how long it will be before any of the tuner companies figure out a way to delete the DPF/EGR/DEF systems. I know suspension lift companies will already have lifts available for the truck by the time they start hitting the dealer lots which is what they usually do anyways. The new front end looks good but like what was said earlier, that chin spoiler has got to go.

Not feeling the 20s. The 32.6" 18s are a great addition, as are the massively upped GVWR, GCWRs, brakes the whole thing sounds great.

So long as the LML proves as reliable as the LMM, I'm in and someone's gonna get a great deal on my LMM.

Doubt it. The new trucks have a whole new frame and whole new front suspension. It will probably take at least 4-6 months I think before you start seeing lift kits for the 2011 HD's.

I can't remember which press release I read it in, but the bolt pattern IS different on the 2011's ......

I just spoke with my Canadian GM rep and it looks like I'll get a test drive late spring early summer. Should be close to the time I get the new Ford for a test drive too - so it will be interesting to see what the two are like almost side by side.
Will be a good time to test fit the retractable canopies I make as well to keep them compatible.

The Exhaust delete systems are already here aFe has a full line of them (I have one here with the turbo back system for a 09) and many programmers for the newer trucks have that built into the programming.

I guarantee Paul and Ross are already getting flooded with emails "so how long until you guys are gonna have support for the LML???" :banghead:
