Only have my 03 LB7 rig with Predator (65hp tune) to compare it too...but my new 06 LBZ (Flashpaq on tow/perf) seems less responsive right off the line...rest of the power band is great and the shifting manners are much better than my old truck/predator....Is softer throttle response common to the LBZ? Does the Flashpaq "performance" setting crisp it up?
Just FYI, I completed a 1850mile run across I-40...netted 18mpg driving in 30 degree weather for most of the trip and some in 4wd because of the road conditions in Oklahoma.

Unsure about the throttle response but I also put a flashpaq on my lbz recently and I knew I would be towing heavy (12Klbs) so I set it on the tow mode. WOW the defueling was horrible, at 3/4 throttle it felt like I would hit my brake in between shifts. Now I have it on tow/perf and it seems to be shifting much better than before but it doesn't feel like it has the low end grunt I had on the tow setting. I am just wondering should I try the performance setting?

the tow setting is there for a reason. if your towing you need to keep it there unless you have a built trans. it defuels hard in order to save your trans as well. it is a good thing not something to be hated unless your trying for track times. i have known of an lb7 to just run harder than an lly or lbz with similar mods and it didnt make sense to me as the lbz had the additional 60 horse. however, after driving them back to back the lb7 just seemed to have more balls with the same tuning.

I installed the "performance" tune this afternoon...didn't really get to play with it much...need to give it some miles to get set in..did seem a little crisper....but yeah...my lb7 flat hauled with that predator tune!

predator tuning is also rated at the wheels not the flywheel like most tuners so that can make a difference.

just a little feedback on this...after 10 days of running on the "performance" setting I'm very happy....really fun to drive!! :D
