Noticed my driver's side upper balljoint has a big tear in it, bad enough that it'll need to be replaced since I can see the joint, won't hold grease etc. Not sure how this happened but nonetheless needs to be replaced. I call around, no part numbers. I called Chevrolet dealership this morning, can't get just the upper balljoint, have to order the entire upper control arm assembly. For a friggin replacement boot?
I searched on here and found where I am not the first to have this problem. Read further and called Napa, and sure enough PN: 260-1526 is the upper balljoint, $58.
So the question is: How hard is it to replace this? I assume I have to remove the upper control arm and press out the old joint and press in the new one? Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks,
Tim
