After finding out the hard way (and expensive) that you won't find an idler pulley on a Sunday broken down in PA, I am going to keep two spares along with my fuel filter and spare belt. Is there an internet source for these other than the dealer? Thanks, Tim

Ask me how I know you know....
Too funny, I did the same thing. They kept the store open late for me. Not only was the pully wrong but the belt they gave me was too. So I paid WAY too much for the local GMC dealer to fix it the next morning. Found the cardboard wrapper to the belt the dealer installed stuffed in the rear of the engine compartment. Of course I was out of town and stranded so I had little choice otherwise.

I spent the ENTIRE afternoon looking for 2 before searching here. Local dealer (only one I called) wanted $42.00 EACH!!!!!!!!! I told him gm parts direct had them for $11.00, and I would give him $20.00 each and he said no deal, his loss I have all week to wait on one from GM Parts direct.

The job ended up costing $586.00 as they clearly showed me the other pulley was shot as was the tensioner. Imagine $108.00 for a serpentine belt from Advance Auto. Well, they were nice folks (Firestone, Mechanicsburg PA) that really tried to get it done on Sunday. Left it for the week and took a train back to pick it up. Not much you can do when you are stuck out of state on a Sunday and need to be back at work Monday morning. Lucky a brother drove 300 miles to pick me and a trailer up on a Sunday night.
