Good evening,
I would like to simply ask if it would be safe to tow a fifth wheel camper that is 10,995 and a pin weight of 1990 lbs with my 2009 LMM, I have been doing the search and if I have i calculated properly....all will be fine I would just like to confirm.
Thank you
Saskman

My trailer is real close to your trailer in weight and I've had no problems for two summers now.

Yes, you are WELL within specs. Your truck will handle that trailer with ease.

I just bought a 2009 32QBBS Wildcat 5th wheel that weighs 9,800 lbs with a 1500 lb pin weight and the truck pulls the piss out of that thing. Plenty of power and will settle in to around 1650 rpm at 60 mph in tow haul. I had a 5200 lb travel trailer before this and the power while towing is really not that different.

Don't worry about it, your truck will do fine.

If you are really worried about towing that weight, check out this web site:

http://changingears.com/rv-sec-calc-trailer-weight-fw.shtml

This is a calculator for finding out what you can tow based on the specs of your truck and trailer and gives you the chance to figure in a safety margin of your choice. Just plug in your specs and the calculator will do the rest. Like you, I was concerned about what I could tow with my truck. This calculator pointed out to me that the diesel was the best choice when I bought my truck. There is also a calculator at this site to figure out towing a travel trailer as well as one for liquid weight as well.
