My truck still isn't running right so far I have pulled the heads off found a cracked valve so I had both heads gone through. Put brand new injectors and glow plugs. Put in a new timing set, and now the dealership put on a new injection pump. The dealership wants to pull the injectors out to see if one is bad so I told them to go ahead and do it. If anyone has anymore ideas let me know. Thanks

I forgot to explain what it does, it idles rough when warmed up, blows alot of blue and white smoke and had a funny sound from the motor. It did not run this bad when I tore it apart. I think the dealership has already started taking the injectors out so I hope this is the problem. If anyone has some ideas I'd be glad to hear them.

Did you check the pistons for cracks? Do a compression test on all 8.

The dealership called this morning THREE brand new injectors were bad so the place I bought them are going to give me three new ones, after they check them.

Yes I did run a compression test before and the only one that was low was the one that had a cracked valve. I took the injectors to the place I bought them and they said I had got some never seeze on the end of the injector they cleaned it up and they worked like new again. So I went to the dealer with my injectors to have them put in and the person in the service said they already put in new injectors them self and they would be $75 a piece!!! I bought mine for $35. So we told them to put my old ones back in and we would take the truck somewhere else. They said they would change them but they were going to charge us labor on something we didn't want done!! So could this problem be somewhere else besides injection pump and injectors like OPS, LP, some other little thing that I am missing. Bofore I take it somewhere else I want to see if I can fix it myself.

I got the truck back from the dealer yesterday. They told us over the phone that it ran just as bad now as it did when I brought it and wanted to know if they should keep going on it. We told them no we would just come get it. I took the trailer over yesterday to get it, it started but blew some smoke and chugged for a while then cleared up. I left it running while I chained it down and it ran great. So I got to drive it for the first time in three months. This morning it did the same thing as when I went and got it, it blew smoke chugged a little then smothed out, when I took off it chugged and blew smoke until it warmed up then it was good. Yesterday when I was driving it the SES light flashed on and it was a 78 Wastegate circuit fault. I changed the lift pump yesterday to see if it would take care of the smoke problem, now I can hear and feel the pump running all the time, is this normal? I never noticed it before. Sorry for the long post I just had alot of info to tell. The thing I am worried about most is the lift pump running all the time. Thanks for any help.

Lp running all the time means it's working. Have you tested the Ohms on the glowplugs? DTC 78 means the boost is higher/lower than the ECM is looking for, check vacuum at turbo and soleniod at idle.

AC 60 G will degrade starting performance in my experience. I have plugs that will help in this area.
From there get a vacuum gauge and check vacuum from the turbo (should be 15"hg+ and vac pump should be 22"hg or better.
