The stock intake is pretty good. Save the money and check out how PPE modified a stock intake.

Ditto here. The stock intake and filter are very good. Use the money where it will make a difference.

i cant say that i have noticed better mileage or performance from my intake but i know the combo of intake, exhaust, and tune are incredible. im running a volant and the only noticeable change i have encountered is a much louder turbo whistle.

If your budget can handle it I'd recommend replacing the stock intercooler (charge air cooler) with a Banks Techni-Cooler, and swapping the stock intercooler tube with an aFe intercooler tube. These are the main choke points in your air intake system -- not the air cleaner. After installing them I noticed better throttle response at all speeds and reduced throttle required to maintain any speed.

Thanks for the links. OK, so I am maybe not so new here. I just bought an 07 LBZ and came back on the forum after being off for about 3 or 4 years. I was actually on here when Arlen was doing the tests himself. I just didn't know it was known as the Spicer Study. Thanks again!

On the LBZ, the Banks intercooler comes with a 3" IC tube

On a stock or lightly modified truck, I'd just stick with the stock LBZ intake with the blue Donaldson filter.

I posted in another thread about this. My lbz seen no benifits at the track with an S&B over the ppe modded intake. Had around 15 runs with both. Both IAT drops was the same as in 7 degrees from start to finish on the runs. I did see about 1 lb/min going past the mass air meter from the S&B but other than that nothing. The S&B does look nice under the hood though and for the money compared to the other intakes, I'd go with the S&B if thats what your looking for.

The 3" IC tube wasn't included when I bought the Banks Techni-Cooler 2 years ago, and the Banks tube wasn't available when I bought the aFe IC tube.

Run an S&B they are just as good and they are only about 270.00. I like mine, cost made it nice too
