: Time for a super gay question.........
JOKERGERM 02-06-2010, 07:16 PM Can i clear 40's ony the truck in my SIG with a 2inch body lift on top of my cognito 7-9.
Im either going to sell my truck and build another one, or Body lift mine 2 inchs and run 40's
I know there kinda gay but i dont want to redo my suspension on this truck.
Thanks flame on.........
greif03lb7 02-06-2010, 07:25 PM Well going from 37's to 40's will only be 1.5 inches from the center of the wheel bigger so if it clears the fender opening good now the height would be good also.
AK4900PA 02-06-2010, 07:35 PM Swap the 2" block to a 3" and turn the torsion bars up another 1/2"-1". I'd try that before the bodylift. That much frame hanging down is kinda ugly.
JOKERGERM 02-06-2010, 08:09 PM I have never seen a cognito 7-9 running 40's. Even cranked up i think your gonna have major issues in to front, rubbing at the fender back by the door.
I guess i could just settle for a 3" block and crank a little more in the front and Run the Kumho 38 15.50 20 and call it good.
They run a little small i think that would be better.
There only .8 taller than 37's and the same width. I just wanted to make it noticably bigger than it is now on 37's
I see no way of making 40's work with out a body lift or 10-12 cognito, any pics would be nice if you think it can be done
AK4900PA 02-06-2010, 10:10 PM It's your truck, but personally I wouldn't do the body lift. It's gonna look like ass. You're truck looks awesome as is. Either be happy with what you have, upgrade to the 10-12 kit, or get something else.
How wide are your wheels. Using a 8.5"-9" wide wheel with reasonable offset and 13.5" wide tire is going to give you the best chance of clearing a tire that tall.
krispetersen4 02-06-2010, 10:21 PM Do not do a body lift
Bartman432 02-06-2010, 10:34 PM I guess the gas mileage issue doesn't matter anymore......lol. Your truck looks great as is.
B-rad 02-06-2010, 11:16 PM they wont fit.
JOKERGERM 02-07-2010, 12:03 AM they wont fit.
are you saying wont fit with my 7-9 and a 2" body lift
or wont fit with just a cranking of the t bars
maybe i could sell my front cognito kit and buy the rize 10" front kit
SSTuner 02-07-2010, 06:16 AM Try the other methods mentioned above first, because the body lift will have to many gaps between the frame and the body.
LBZrcks 02-07-2010, 11:53 AM Don't do a body lift like others have mentioned, they're gay.
B-rad 02-07-2010, 12:39 PM 7-9 set at 9 and 2" body aint enough. plus will look gross with the body lift. im having to be extra careful not to tear my inner fender liners and flares off.

Ok so the 40's idea is out.
Do we think i can clear 38 15.50 kumho KL71's with no body lift?
The 38's messure 14.3 wide and 37.7 tall.
My 37's toyos are 14.1 wide and 37.2 tall
B-rad 02-07-2010, 03:32 PM i had my truck set at 10 with 38/1550/20 at first. after 3 near bumper removals (twice at the bank, once at the beach) i upped it to 11 and could keep my bumper attached and inner fenders where they go. so no you will not be able to "clear" those tires. they will rub and cause some damage if you ever turn and flex the suspension at all. a 38/13.50 yes. but not a 1550.

I agree with what your saying about a 38 15.50 20 toyo cause there section width on a rim is 15.9 right now i have 37 13.50 20 toyo and there section width is 14.1 ish and the 38 15.50 20 kumho section width on a rim is only 14.3
thats why i thought i could run the 38 15.50 kumho, not toyo, the toyo is vastly wider than the kumho in the 15.50.
Does that affect your answer any about the fitment>?? or is it still a no
on my LLY; 4" rancho + 2" tbar crank+3" body so 9" of lift I cleared 39.5x13.5 Iroks. I had to trim my front lower valance and they rubed my step bars at full lock but nothing bad. only time they grabed the fender flares was when Id jump it.

no that greatly changes the equation. thats the same size as what you have now on width. that should fit with very little difference. the width is more the problem than the diameter.

Sweet deal, looks like im going that route instead
thanks all
JOKERGERM 02-07-2010, 08:45 PM I was doing some more looking around at tires and the Pitbull maddogs 38 13.50 20 messure 38.7" tall and 13" Section width wide
Is the 1" inch narrower tire going to compensate for the 1" taller diameter, as far as rubbing?
Im trying to go taller with my ride height.
Seeing as there alittle narrower i was thinking i could squeeze some more height out of them. i mean its only 1.5" inch taller than my 37's which is 3/4" inch taller where it matters
