Was pulling the fifth wheel today and set the following codes which put the truck in 3rd gear only mode :eek: , a shut down, wait, restart worked, funny thing is it seem to only do it when I had cruise on, would also kick out of tow/haul mode, if I just drove it was fine, made it home and checked codes. 1 p0735 gear 5 ratio incorrect and 2 p0700 trans control sys malfunction. Any ideas, I did not clear them so I can show the dealer Monday but would like to have a heads up on what to except.

Code 700 is to tell the engine light to come on. The 735 is what put you in limp. Did it limp when cruise went for kick down?? Did just drop out with out warning. More info??

Was in cruise- it kicked down did a odd downshift upshift thing and then set the code, once was on a slight down hill and the 2nd was on a long uphill. If I just drove it was fine, down and upshifts had no code issues. I did notice a longer than normal defuel between shifts but nothing else.

LVL #3 the same I run 90% of the time. Defuel all, low fuel #2, talked to dealer, said there might be a tsb on that code and he'll call me back. I'll post what I find. The SEL did cyle off by itself today.

#3 is probably too much for a stock tranny and a 5th wheel. Defueling will help but won't prevent limping under some conditions.

LVL 3 has never caused a limp in my 01 and that one has been used hard, not beat but used, 58k and still going fine. It plows snow and pulled both trailers untill December when th CC came in. I'll run LVL 2 and see what happens with that.

Could the '05's additional HP be just enough to push it over the 90-100 HP limit?
