I tried searching for this but had no luck. Could someone point me to a thread or, explain just what people are talking about when they speak of stacking controllers or chips?

Thanks,
Dan

Stacking is running 2 or more different power adders at the same time.

A common stack is a QUAD 215 Tuner with an EDGE Juice module.

The QUAD reflashes the ECM and the EDGE is a plug in adjustable box.

Be REALLY careful what you stack and make sure its okay. You can literally destroy your engine if yous stack the wrong chips...one to many poeple have learned this the heard way

Why wont the banks stack? I have a Hypertech in my truck now, and was thinking of stacking either the Edge w/ Attitude or the Banks 6 gun w/ Speed loader. I don't want to give up my Hypertech due to the fact that my truck is lifted and has 35" tires. The Hypertech is the only one I know of that actually corrects the factory speedo, and odometer. I GPS'ed my truck this weekend with the new Pro Comp X-Terrains, and the speedo is 1/2 a mile an hour off. Close enuf for goverment work!! I don'e even mind dropping down to the lower power settings on the Hypertech to keep my speedo right. If the Banks really wont stack, then I might have to go with the Edge w/ Attitude?????

Use the 6-Gun for power gains and the Hypertech for adjusting tire sizing. Leave the truck stock on the Hypertech when it asks you. You'll have more than enough power with the 6-Gun. BTW, level 3 on the 6-Gun with Speedloader equals the Hypertech on it's 96hp setting as far as 1/4 mile performance.

Some have stacked with the banks with sucess. Stacking is hit and miss. Some things play nice together some dont. Some stack on some peoples trucks and some dont. If you want to leave your trans stock and dont want to make big power the banks will work ok but so does the hypertech. If you want bigger power, a better stacker then the juice is a better programer by far. If your leaving the trans alone then there is no reason to stack. JMO

I had the banks/6spl stacked with the Predator 120 on a LB7 with no problems. I'll have to check my dyno sheets bcuz I believed I dyno'd it at least twice.

I'm have no immediate tranny plans, and I really dont need a bunch of power. I got the Hypertech for free, so cant go wrong there, and it corrected my factory speedo. However I do need EGT and Boost gages as I will be pulling a 9K# toy hauler. I know both the Edge and the Banks have safety measures in them for de-fueling if EGT's get to high, or if the tranny slips. Seams to make more sense to but the Edge w/ Attitude for like $650, than just buying 2 Autometer gauges and A-pillar for somewhere near $400 but then again what the heck do I know??

The edge attitude is a very good bang for the buck

All you really need is a pyro and if you drive sensible you dont need the trany defuel/egt defuel. That would be the ultimate el cheapo option......but the edge is cool and has all kindsa cool man **** with it.....and you say you dont want a ton of power but you will young jedi.
