i have a new kenwood 514 to install and i want to bypass the e brake. everywhere i read it says to ground the e brake wire, do you just wire it together with the ground on the same harness coming out of the radio?
Thanks

You can ground it anywhere, a ground is a ground.

It sounds like you need run them both to a ground point, not just tie them together. You can tie them together along with another wire run to a good ground point. The wire coming out of the radio is not a ground in itself,it needs to be grounded,if you follow what I'm trying to say.

yup, i understand what your saying and planned on doing that, i bought an adapter that plugs into the factory plug, so i just have to wire the radio plug to this plug.
Thanks

That adapter probably has a ground coming from it you that you can take them both to.

I took this wire and ran it thru a switch to ground. Not sure on your unit but mine had to see no ground (e-brake off) and then a ground (e-brake on). I put the switch on the rail under the steering wheel. Could be put anywhere down there.

every one i ever installed i used a toggle switch. the alpine unit requires a certain process to make the monitor work thus the toggle. plus if you get pulled over its nice to be able to turn the screen off

thats some pioneer or alpine
a delay relay works better that than the toggle
kenwood you just ground the green wire with the black wire in the harness
