What I have been hearing is that the stock air filter pretty much beats out all the other ones, and that a good way of improving the stock air intake system is by both having a larger intake tube, i believe 3 1/2" instead of 3", and also "swisscheesing" the air intake. I was hoping some of you could post some comments on this process and the best way to do it as to avoid hot engine air getting into the intake but still getting as much cold air as possible.

Man, you have the exact same truck I just picked up yesterday. I've also been looking to do upgrades and had the same question.
