i was all set on the stainless untill i heard about the surface rust after a year. the lifetime stainless is too expensive. i am now considering the alluminized. those of you that got the xp series would you have gotten the alluminzed instead knowing about the surface rust?:help:

dmaxcrew,

It's all relative to where you live (winters) and how long you intend to keep the truck. The 409 will get spots and turn gray/brown but it will hold up a longer time than aluminized especially in salty Northern areas. The aluminized will "look" better longer though. The stock system is 409, so check it out and you'll see what it loks like now and what to expect of a MBRP system from us. Call us if you have any questions etc.

thanks mark i had my mind set on the mbrp cool duals until i found a killer deal on magnaflow duals. the company is ofering it with stainless tips ,lifetime warranty and a free k&n fip kit for 883.00 shipped to my door. could you offer any deal at all? i do like the sound of the mbrp kit better but i can`t find a sound clip for the magnaflow duals just the single and was told it would have the same tone as the single just more of it because of the duals. thanks for the reply.

The 409 system was a good choice. The aluminized does not come with hangers on the pipes; you have to use the clunky clamp style ones. The 409 and 304 systems have the hangers attached to the pipe for easy, clean installation. Up here is Wisconsin it is a no brainer to go with the stainless.
