quick question, i have a 2004 3500srw dmax/ally and just bought a set off brand new h2 tires and wheel off a friend and now am trying to figure out how to fit them without to much money invested in a lift. i dont know if i should turn my tbars or get the keys or get the leveling kit from cognito or what. my truck has 285-65-16s on it from the factory and i think the 3500 sits a little higher than the 2500 stock but am not sure. i have no prob with doing some trimming but dont want these tires to rub too bad. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everybody

Id say green keys and A LOT of trimming. If you dont have an aftermarket front-end like a ranchhand you might have to cut the bumper a few inches. I have 305/55R20s and they rubb like a Censored . But my rims also have a wide off-set and that can make all the difference.

I sell at a dealership in utah, and the popular thing at our dealership is a 315/75/r16 with a levelling kit, and rims that dont let the tires hang out.. there is just a little bit if trimming involved, but the trucks sure look sick when they are done.. perfect way for big ass tires with out spending 2 to 3 grand for a lift.. just my .02

to make them fit without a lift or green keys, you will have to crank your bars to the max, but it can be done.

Raise the bars until your level. Leave 3 to 4 threads between the nut and the bolt head.
Mount the H2's.
Trim and zip tie.
Drive it for a couple of days/weeks. If you can live with it your done. If not, get the kit.
On edit: Almost forgot...And get an alignment done.

THEY FIT, finally, well i ended up moving my bumper forward one inch and cutting my valance just a hair, trimming the inside wheel wells a little, one zip tie on drivers side brake cable and a little adjustment on the very inside of the fender that isnt even noticeable. o yea and i really had to crank on the torsion bars. now the highest point from my fender to the ground is 41". it took a little work but in about four hours all this was done. thanks for the input guys.

41" sounds about right. I had to crank mine 6 turns (1.5") and do some trimming and zip-ties to get a fit with no rubbing. I think my front is 41" and the rear is 41.75"...

No, not really. Poke around the farm's pastures a little but that's it. Most of the time I'm either pulling a GN or bobtailing on the road or close to it. The only time I've had some rubbing was crossing a ditch in a hayfield at an angle. Got a little bit of a rub on the driver's side at the back of the wheel well.
Frankly the 315's were larger than I'd expected, but I'd gotten such a sweet deal, I couldn't turn it down. If I can't get another set of H2 takeoff's for the same $ when these wear out, I'll probably go down to a 285 or something similar.
Thanks for the compliments, all. Pics are old, but the truck's CLEAN, which is extremely rare for me. Maybe if I wash it this summer I'll take some more photos. Heck, all that dirt and crud has GOT to protect the paint from oxidation, right?
