So what is the best remote start these days?? I looked into it a long time ago and at that time it was the Astrostart. What do you guys recommend? Is Maxpower still around and selling the Astrostarts? I have an '04 that I would like a remote start and be able to activate my high idle and turn on my heated seats!

Honestly gumbyjb is pretty much correct. The big names aren't completely made by the same company but they all have the same features. The keys to a good remote start are the install and the bypass module used. Good r/s brands are Astrostart, Viper, Compustar, Ultra, among others. Since you want the heated seats, I would use the Idata bypass. They seem to have the heated seats figured out, from what I hear. The activation of the high idle can be done using the trunk/aux function. I believe there's a post on it somewhere.
