Very straight forward..... Flushed 6 gallons of Amsoil through the system...

Drained pan added 3-gallons... Flushed about 2... Added 2 new.... Flushed 1.... Added 1.... Then found I had to much in it anyway from the factory... Had to drain some back out... I did'nt over fill it.. I used my Custom measuring system!!!! SHARPIE pen on a Wal-Mart clear storage bin that was layign around.... :eek: :eek: :eek: !!!!!


This is fluid with 16,621 mi. and a 10.5 qt. Pan/Filter Drop at 8,500 mi.....

BLAH!!!!!! I have been running it with to much fluid....

It's messy no matter what you do.............I know between Mackin and I we have stained my driveway in multiple places..........I have to get the power washer out with some DAWN today...........:eek:

That method came from the old days when the trucks first came out. I believe SteveO (Allison technician) and a couple other guys back during thedeeselpage days came up with that method. I used it and recorded the method for everyone to use. Works great.

How much fluid does it actually take to service the Ally?

Assuming you have the std size stock pan:

- Approx 7.4 qts if you only drain the pan.

- Approx 12.7 qts for a complete change.

Mine took 5 gallons with the deep PML pan.

Definatley more than 12 qt. I ran 6 Gallons threw it!!! Pan hold 10.5 quarts with a PAN drop... Torque COnvertor supposadly holds 4.5 qts....

15 qts. + Supply and Return lines Plus Cooler is probable at 19-20 qt. IMO....

22 was to much but that is what most say!!!! In MY TRUCK... 22 qt. was to much!!!
