I just put an AEM Brute Force intake with the white filter. I also just put on a 5in ss mangaflow exhaust. The problems I am getting now are starting to worry me a bit. On the intake side my filter indicator thing keeps on getting plugged to the red. i just press it so resets but its happend 2x this weekend. What gives? On the exhaust side it seems my EGTs went up about 50* shouldnt it have gone down? I didnt have a cat to begin with as its a 49 state truck. Now with both of these things added I started driving it a bit hard and now it seems like the trans is slipping or the engine is defueling. As I approach 3k driving it hard it seems to slip and my rpms drop a bit but wont go anywhere. Any ideas/suggestions.
TIA
Jon

As for the air restriction guage are you sure it isn't bad. maybe the spring inside the guage is at fault. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter that could be causing the higher egts because its lacking fuel. Now since you said your driving it harder and your sig says you have a bully dog you could be slowly buring the trans up if you hammer it every where your going.

The AEM will do that to the restriction gauge it is normal

Good info thats weird that it would cause that. Sometimes the guages go bad it's not often they do but sometimes they do and the first thing that goes is the spring. Then it want read the vaccum/restriction correctly to let you know its dirty.

I changed my fuel filter about 4k miles ago. The Bully Dog still hasnt been installed yet. Still getting an error code and it wont upload. The slipping was because the trans hadnt yet relearned I would assume as it shifts fine now. Thanks for the heads up on the AEM though.

Glad to know that its shifting smooth now. Are you still having the other problems though?

Egts are still warmer than what it was before. Im sure it has to do with the exhaust as that was the only thing that it changed. Unless the filter got clogged over night. I dont get why the AEM is causing the filter indicator to show red. I mean isnt it suppose to out flow the stock box so in theory it should stay green till way past its clogging point?
