I've pulled my 02 with a 6 spd and stock clutch and it doesn't do to bad. It all depends on how much power you have. When I did it all I had was a juice with attitude and I pulled in 4 lo 3rd gear its a little slow to really compete with the big boys but without a dual disc you won't be able to get 4th 4lo. 1st gear 4hi is a little slower than 3rd lo if you can't get it moving. My truck was in a 8000# class and I had about 1000# on the front which really gives you traction and makes it a little harder to take off in the higher gear because of the lack of wheel spin off the line. Good luck and have fun.

Its a Kentucky Truck & Tractor pullers Assc. pull at our county fair, not sure but i thought maybe some of you fellow kentuckians would know some of the rules. Someone told me i couldnt run duals but iv been to some pulls where they didnt care but i dunno they might be right.

The best thing to do is call the contact # for the sled rules the fair board should have it and ask him directly. Where is the fair at? What county, my clutch is to far gone to pull but I might come and watch.

3rd in low side should not be a problem. Just dont spend much time engaging the the clutch or smoke will roll.

I'm also thinking about starting to pull this year.I watched it last year and it appeared to be a pretty light sled to start with.I was wondering if 2nd 4hi would be to fast,it sounds like it would be.How hard would it be on the stock clutch running a Edge set on 65hp for pulling? Thanks a lot.

I don't think you'll get the sled moving in 2nd 4hi if you still want any of that stock clutch left to drive it home, and if you do you'll put on a different kind of smoke show. ):h I would tun the edge up as high as it will go and pull in 3rd low you should be fine. I pulled my stock clutch twice with the 125 hp edge/***. and it still does alright but it definatly is in need of being replaced with 60,000 miles on it. Good luck and if the track is wet or slick you may want to try 2nd hi cause the takeoff is what kills the clutch, once its out your good to go as long as you didn't heat it to bad on take off.:badidea:
