I was out looking for a new truck today (as is everybody it seems). The salesman comes out to talk a little with me. I showed him the truck I was interested in. We talked a little about it, then I asked if I could drive it once. He says "well are you interested, we don't like to put any miles on the diesels unless you're really considering buying it."
I managed to convince him that I was interested. It wasn't a huge problem I guess. Then, when I got back from my five mile test drive, we talked some more. I told him about working on the farm etc. He asks me "can you put farm diesel in these?" I said, "sure you can do anything you want, but if you get caught it's an extremely stiff penalty. It's considered tax evation.

Interesting day to say the least.

Thats kinda wierd that they almost wouldn't let you test drive. I have driven a couple diesels. The salesmen basically threw me the keys and said jump in lets go.

I noticed that the LLY Motor "smokes" a little more under hard acceleration running "The Red".

When I was looking at mine the salesman did not even go with me on the test drive. He went over some of the features in the lot then tossed me the keys and said to come back when I was ready.:confuzeld

I have developed a relationship with my local Rep.

He always tosses the keys and says enjoy.

Nothing more. I like it that way.

I remember a few years ago test driving a Ford, the sales rep rode with.

William Same exact thing for me, they did mention that its harder to find diesels right now, as i noticed. But they were all happy to let me test drive.
