Title says it all. I was wondering what year truck I could get a cap from and fit my 05 Chevy Silverado??? Was the back window area that different? I'm pretty sure that sides and tailgate area wouldn't matter. Just wondering about the body lines around the rear window area. Thanks.

Chevy parts for the vehicles....such as step bars, hitches and etc all run 99 to current

what is the brand of the cap. Also most parts go from 88 to98 if you look.

Well, I tried to do the very thing that you are looking for. The lengths and widths of the bed are really close to being the same. Close enough that it did not matter to me. The HD cab heights are taller and the crew cabs have a different cab angle than the ex and reg cabs do. The deal killer for me was at the tailgate. The 99-05 gates are curved while the 88-98's are straight across, therefore it would not make a very good seal and the cap had to be slid back about 3-4" just to get the back window to latch. So in conclusion, the answer is no. It will not fit perfectly on your 05. There have been some on ebay, but that is hit or miss. I just ended up buying a brand new one.
