Here are some changes in the LLY Duramax engine for 2006:

available in Savana/Express full size vans w/4L85E trans
engine block bulkhead reinforced
piston design change will reduce compression from 17.7:1 to 16.8:1 to reduce noise and smooth engine
vanes in turbo redesigned for better aerodynamics-max boost 30psi
larger volume water pump
larger EGR cooler
new fuel pump raises pressure from 23k to 26kpsi-pressure relief valve will stay open untill engine is shut off on overpressure
new injector nozzles w/7 hole spray pattern-flow rates for each injector are stored in the ECM and GPCM
no Fuel Injection Control Module
new ECM and Glow Plug Control Module
new fan, fan clutch and shroud
new induction system (air cleaner and tubes)
new grid type intake heater
new external trans cooler
larger radiator
Only on Savana/Express:

electric prime pump (40psi) will replace hand pump
filter in new pump for total of 2 fuel filters
fuel operated coolant heater

Aurora 5000 turbo
Banks Intercooler kit
Fass Lift pump
ATS CP3 upgrade
ATS Extreme Trans
Merchant Automotive Injectors
Custom CalTracs bars to accomodate lift
Custom PPE tuning
VA box, if needed
And some more, but I dont want to spoil the suprise.
