I was curious how much power the ATS CoPilot would withstand all by itself.
So starting with a new 2005 truck with a CoPilot (6300lb raceweight), I took it to the track with about 420rwhp (need to verify next week). The Verdict:
After 6 1/4mi passes it limped the trans in 5th gear. The 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 all clipped off sharp shifts with the CoPilot set on Drag Mode. But 5th gear never really held, not even one pass. The tach needle wandered between 2500-3000 during fifth gear.
It appears it doesn't do alot for the weakest link, 5th gear. It is probably best used as an enhancer for a properly built transmission.
