Doese anyone know what the resistance should be on our cam sensors. I think that this might be why my transplant won't run. It has three prongs and was wondering if there was a way to see if it was good or not. I hooked a matco scan tool to my truck and it read a dtc saying cam position sensor bank 1? I have had the scan tool hooked up to it a few times this weekend and this was the first time it read this code.

Has anyone had to replace one of these yet? I know it is a somewhat common problem on the psd's. GM wants $94 for one and I wish I could test mine to know if it was bad before I bought a new one.

Try posting in "Ask The Techs" Dosent seem like you are gettin any help here
Does the starter quit cranking...........say after like 6 sec of continuous turning over?

No the starter doesn't quit cranking. It will crank fine just won't start, it acts just like my 02 did when the computer said it was the cam sensor. On my 02 it was a broken wire though and not the sensor.

If there are 3 terminals, then then it is an active sensor. This means there is a supply (+), a return (- or gnd), and an output (O). Based on the schematic that I have from the upfitters web site, the terminals are left to right (+,-,O). I cannot guarantee this since I am not familiar with this sensor, but that is what the schematic shows.
Anyways, just checking with an ohm meter will tell you very little unless there is actually an open conductor in the sensor. An active sensor creates a digital output that is either high or low. Since the sensor is getting its supply from the controller, the supply voltage is either 5 volts or 12 volts. If the controller is supplying 5 volts to the sensor, then the output of the sensor will be either something close to 5 volts (output high) or something close to 0 volts (output low).
If you want more help trying to diagnose this sensor, PM me and I might be able to help you.

Don't know what it should be, but I have a spare.
When holding mounting bracket at 8 O-clock position and looking into electrical connector:
left pin to pin center 6K or 21K, depending on polarity
left pin to right pin >20Meg or 7K, depending on polarity
center pin to right pin >20Meg or 35K, depending on polarity
Measured with +20 year old $30 Radio Shack Analog VOM
